| The Mental Health Project helps low-income New Yorkers with psychiatric disabilities break the devastating cycle of homelessness, hospitalization and incarceration and regain dignity and hope. To find the people who need us most, we go to jails, psychiatric units, and shelters. We focus on essentials such as food, housing, medical care, and disability benefits. When we discover gaps in the safety net, we educate, organize, and litigate to close them. For more information, contact Rosa Squillacote, rsquillacote@urbanjustice.org, 646-602-5677 or go to http://www.urbanjustice.org/ujc/projects/mental.html |
